Latin roots, Abbott and Costello style

So we're doing a vocabulary drill from MCT Language Arts: Latin roots and prefixes. It went something like this:

Mom: "Bene"

Boy: **atchewwww**

Mom: "You just sneezed all over my stuff!!"

Boy: "GOOD!"

Mom: "What?! You just spewed germy slime..."

Boy: "Mom, 'bene' means 'good'."

Mom: *sheepish grin* "Oh. Okay, 'cogni-'?"

Boy: "NO!"

MOM:"What no?! What could possibly be 'NO' about vocabulary?!"

Boy: "Mommm. 'Cogni' means 'know'..."

Mom: **facepalm**

Cue the hysterical laughter...
